A Podium Finish!
I arrived at Pembrey on Friday morning for testing with mixed emotions, I felt so excited knowing I’d be racing and nervous because it would be my first race meeting and wanted to do well.

Saturday I qualified 8th on the grid and after a good start off the line finished 5th in the race which I was really happy with. I learnt during my first race that concentrating on blocking the person behind you looses a lot of time; I knew my next race should be spent attacking those in front.
Sunday I qualified 7th on the grid and was far more relaxed and focused on what I needed to do. I flew off the start and moved into 5th place from 7th at the first corner; I kept the front runners in site and moved up to 4th place. In front of me was Christine Holmes and each lap I could see I was getting closer. Jennifer Garrett and Sheena Woolhouse were fighting for 1st and 2nd place and during this battle Sheena made a mistake and span, woohoo, this was it, I was in 3rd place and I could smell the Champagne! In my mirror I saw Sheena return to the track and knowing she would be on a mission to get back to the front I had to keep focused and concentrate on catching Christine. I was praying for the last lap board to come out but a big crash at the back of the pack brought out the red flags and the end of the race! I took 3rd place and it felt fantastic!
Snetterton is now looming and I can’t wait to get back in the car and have another go!
Thank you to my sponsors Toyota (GB) PLC, Split Screen Systems, Sound Print and my mum. Without them I wouldn’t have been able to race.
