Away from cars and Bikes, Wendy enjoys go-kart racing, mountain biking, snowboarding and going to the gym. From Monday to Friday Wendy Works for Toyota as a Senior Technical Support Analyst.
Wendy remembers being around five when a glimpse of a Porsche 911 kicked off her interest in four wheels, which was sustained by her two older brothers who spent most of their time modifying their cars.
Soon after Wendy had passed her driving test she sold her mini and bought an Astra SR and joined the local car club. She attended many ‘treasure hunts’, and spent hours racing boys around the country side and managed to get a reputation for ‘setting the pace’.
After blowing the engine in the Astra, a Fiesta XR2 and then a Ford Escort RS Turbo followed which had up rated suspension and engine modifications. More powerful cars followed and the driving bug became worse.
Wendy started going to race meetings including grass track races around the south and even drove in a mechanics race coming 3rd and beating off her male rivals. Rally Cross became her passion and dreamed of one day racing a Metro 6R4.
Today Wendy still has that dream of racing and luckily Formula Woman has given Wendy this opportunity. While at Cadwell Park driving Mazda RX8s, practising with the original girls from the 2004 series, Wendy was timed (unofficially) one of the quickest on track. This only fuelled the fire inside and is now determined to prove she has what it takes to win. Wendy is sure her talent will shine through.
Wendy also has a passion for 2 wheels, owning a Kawasaki ZX 636 and has taken it to several track days including the California bike School.
